“What’s Under Your Skirt?” ~ A Rebel Belle Survey & Gift!

It's been a while since I hiked up my skirt to show you what's underneath (and no - there are no granny britches hiding under here!). I'll be honest, I had been feeling a little disconnected from my Rebel Belle Self and needed to go find her.

Ain't it amazing how, in this infinitely wired world, I can still get disconnected? And I don't mean just losing my internet connectivity but something deeper.

In this world that's MySpaced, Facebooked and cranked up with networks, it's easy to get lost in the instant message stream, and disconnect from real life. And folks being “disconnected” from myself and others is not a feeling I like. There’s no juice in disconnection. There's not a lot of clarity. And there certainly isn’t any fun!

When I feel disconnected, I know that I’m in a state of resistance. And, when I’m resisting, I’m not in the flow. Folks, I LOVE being in the flow! Flow carries the juice!

So what do I do when I’m in this state? I connect... to myself and others. I connect to my soul, and I share that connection with others.

Hop Aboard The Freedom Train!

This month, I'm excited to give a big ol' Rebel Belle Yell to my favorite tool for personal freedom and self-expression - Human Energy Design; the discovery tool that rocked my soul.

Being from the South, I wasn't raised to yell, nor was I raised to be liberated and spontaneously hike my skirt up, as you see in the cute little picture at the top left of this page.

I was raised to be small, quiet, polite, and inauthentic. I was schooled in the rules of gentile southern behavior. I was encouraged to put the needs of others before my own, and follow certain social behaviors. These societal rules and roles left me confused and unsure of who I was supposed to be.

However, I excelled. I learned to play the game, with southern grace and charm. But, by the time I hit my 40s, I was totally confused about my identity. Was I the Junior League Socialite, the Career Woman, the Stay-at-Home Mom, all of the above or none of them? Who was I? My journey of self-discovery began with this one simple question.
