I'm Little But I'm Loud! ~ A Story of Synchronicity...

That’s Martina McBride at the age of 7, singing at the top of her lungs. My best friend in life, Julia Delores Hollady Lee Blankenship, taught me this song, in high school. Why, I actually believed she made it up. We use to belt it out in duo - “I’m Little But I’m Loud”. It became our signature song.

I met the amazing Julie Hollady in kindergarden and was immediately drawn to her infectious smile, playfulness, and zeal for life. We developed a deep bond of friendship and spiritual connection, one that I continue to nurture and carry in my heart today.

Julie and I were always together; creating memories, sharing amazing experiences and conversations. Some of our favorite topics included God, spirit, and religion. Julie and I talked about the possibility of death and what would happen if one or the other of us passed first. We discussed how we would communicate with one another and hold a space for the other in heaven. (Remember folks, this was high school).

I never dreamed that day would come, especially when and how. Julie was killed in an automobile accident at the age of 29. I was devastated by her loss and the absence of her joy and vitality in my life. Julie was my “once in a lifetime” friend... or so I thought.
