April Fool's Day: Live a Li'l, Laugh a Li'l

Happy April 1st You All & Happy April Fool's Day!

I am here to share today, that I LOVE to laugh. I love to laugh almost as much as I love to cry and wail. We'll leave wailing for another time.

Laughter IS the best medicine. A Vanderbilt study estimated that laughing for 10-15 minutes a day burns up to 40 calories. Laughter releases endorphins that make you feel good. When you laugh your physiology changes. You stretch muscles throughout your face and body. Your pulse and blood pressure go up. You breathe faster sending more oxygen to your tissues. This means laughter is like a mild workout!! OMG'D! YAY!

Have you ever noticed you have NO resistance to the people, events and circumstances in your environment when you are laughing? Your laughter softens tension filled moments. It lifts your spirit.  You lose control (in a good way!)

Actually you are hardwired TO laugh. Yes, you have a genetic imperative to laugh, to push air out of your lungs and laugh the frig' out loud!! It's an inbuilt part of your survival mechanism for health, and for strengthening your bonds and connection with others. 

Laughter UNITES us all. It connects us, brings us together. In fact, on this 1st day of April, we are celebrating an internationally recognized day of joking and pranking our friends and family, in order to laugh. 

Join me today. Let's unite and socially connect through the homogenization and humor of laughter. Be of service and share the 'art of laughter' with another. Connect in a way that brings health into your body and life, AND lifts the spirits of the world around you.
