SELF Expressed-Discovering Purpose

"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and proclaiming, "WOW! What a ride!"

Are you ready for a ride? Let me ask you…

Are you awake to your life?
Does your life have meaning and direction?
Are you fully expressing yourself or do you worry about what others think of you?
Do you desire to make a difference?
Is the world waiting for you?

How would you answer these questions?

Here’s how my 21-year-old daughter answered these questions a year ago in an email she sent to me. When you finish reading, my challenge to you is to go back and ask yourself those same questions.

Jamie Davis – “My life purpose is to be a catalyst for change in others through spirit and expressive movement.“

When I think about my life I find myself asking the same question… What is my purpose? I’ve decided that we all as human beings have a choice. We can choose to wake up and see the bigger picture or we can stay asleep and remain unaware of the unlimited possibilities that are available to us. I don’t know when it happened exactly but one day I woke up and realized the world is waiting for me, and in knowing this I can never live my life the same way I once did. This world is an unpredictable and crazy place in which we are constantly in a state of uncertainty, but where I find comfort is in knowing that I have the ability to create my own destiny. I have spent a large portion of my life worrying about what others think and trying to make them happy, but I now see that in this lifetime it will be about me, and finding what makes me truly happy. Life is too short and I feel it is my duty to share my knowledge and life experience with those around me. I want to make a difference in people’s lives and I want to be a catalyst for change in others through spirit and expressive movement. Sometimes I feel like my heart and soul are bigger than the shell they are confined in. So I will find an outlet to which I can expand myself to reach my fullest potential. And I promise to make an impact on this world by being my authentic self, and before my life is over I will succeed in the fulfillment of my purpose.

Wow… and she’s just 21!! So, how about you? Are you awake? Are you ready to discover your passion and purpose, to find an outlet to expand & fully express who you are loud and free? Are you ready for a ride?!?!?
